Dear Eatontown Public Schools Community Member:

In March, we asked students, parents/caregivers, and staff to share their thoughts and opinions about the School Climate at each of the four schools in our district. Here are some of the key takeaways from that survey and our plans to make improvements for the future.
Respondents: We asked students, staff, and parents/caregivers to respond to the survey. This is how many participated from each group in 2024 and 2025:
Students in Grades 3-5 - 230 in 2024 and 281 in 2025
Students in Grades 6-8 - 166 in 2024 and 237 in 2025
Staff Members - 123 in 2024 and 154 in 2025
What we're doing well: Students, staff members, and parents/caregivers agreed that our schools provide supportive relationships between staff and students, provide support for students’ Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), and that Family Support and Engagement is improving. 2024, staff members and parents/caregivers agreed that we could do more to provide support and engagement for families. In 2025, Family Support and Engagement was one of the areas the district scored well!
Where we can improve: We know that there are areas that can be improved upon. Students, staff members, and parents/caregivers all felt we could do a better job with Students’ Interpersonal Behaviors, and our staff believe that we need to provide more Organizational Resources and Supports. These topics were identified as areas for improvement in 2024 and scores did improve in 2025, but we still have some work to do in these areas. Another area that the district will be focusing on in the future is Academic Culture and Classroom Practices. Our scores did improve from 2024 to 2025, but this is an important topic that we want to continue improving upon.
Our focus for the future: In the 2025-2026 school year and beyond, we plan to focus on some key areas to make improvements for our students, our staff, and our school community, including Student Interactions, Academic Culture, and Tools & Resources for Staff Members.
