Teachers shape the lives of children every day.  Their care and compassion moves us beyond words, so we need emojis to say how we feel. With the abrupt break in the physical school year, our teachers have done even more to continue education with virtual classrooms and learning-at-home lessons. All to ensure every student has the tools they need to reach their full potential.

So, let’s all shower teachers in appreciation and share how we love (️) like (👍), celebrate (🎉) and care for (😍) our teachers!

It's in these challenging times that we truly recognize and appreciate how our district’s educators play such a pivotal role in our children’s lives—inspiring a lifelong love of learning and discovery and making a difference in their well-being and long-term success.

While we often thank our teachers every day, it is during Teacher Appreciation Week when we like to pause and really show our love for the teachers in our lives. We encourage you to tell your teacher how much you…

  • Love (❤️) how they encourage you in special ways
  • Like (👍) what’s happening in their virtual classroom
  • Celebrate (🎉) their achievements with students
  • Care about (😍) their commitment to students and families

Pictures from Students

Students can send a picture of themselves to their teacher showing a message of appreciation or a picture of them completing a home instruction activity.

Videos from Students

If you are more tech-savvy, you could create a short video clip of your child sharing a message to their teacher explaining what your child appreciates about the teacher or the class.

Help the Teacher Get Classroom Supplies (for FREE!)

If you know (or suspect) your teacher spends a good portion of his or her own money on classroom supplies and projects, invite him or her to create a teacher account on DonorsChoose. DonorsChoose is a non-profit teacher-only version of GoFundMe where teachers can get the supplies they desperately need without digging into their own pockets. You can also search for schools in your area to see how you can help local teachers get the supplies they need for their classrooms!
