Dear Eatontown School Community Member:
I hope this letter finds you well and you are enjoying the summer days. As September approaches, there are a few important updates to share.
Next week, I will be sending a communication to the school community regarding health and safety procedures for the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. On Friday, August 6th, Governor Murphy made an announcement regarding mask and face covering wearing in schools. Please look for further updates from my office through your email as well as by looking at our district website at www.eatontown.org.
Summer planning, cleaning, and maintenance are well underway. Classrooms are being cleaned and disinfected, HVAC equipment is being enhanced, and new bathroom facilities are being added for our Kindergarten and Preschool programs.
The district is hosting a vaccination clinic for Eatontown residents through a partnership with the Monmouth County Health Department on Tuesday, August 10th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Memorial School All-Purpose Room. This is a good opportunity for students, staff, and community members ages 12 and over to receive their COVID-19 vaccination. Please visit the district website for additional information.
Eatontown Public Schools also is hosting Kindergarten and Preschool Orientations in August. Please note that Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 25th and Preschool Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 26th. Please visit the district website for more details.
Last but certainly not least, please begin to prepare students for the first day of school which is Wednesday, September 8th. Summer reading and math activities are posted on the district website. School supply lists will be posted on the school webpages soon. Ensuring students are developing appropriate sleep routines is important as well.
Thank you for your cooperation and consideration. Enjoy the summer days ahead. Be safe and be well.
Sincerely,
Scott T. McCue
Superintendent of Schools
