SEL Celebration - Mrs. Daley's Class

Colorful sparkles filled Ms. Ciani’s, Mrs. Argilagos’, and Mrs. Daley’s classrooms as students celebrated the completion of their very first Creative Curriculum study! To mark this special milestone, the young learners invited family members into the classroom to take part in a hands-on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) sensory bottle project.

Throughout this first unit, students explored key foundational skills such as building a strong classroom community, learning to share, expressing big emotions, and investigating the world around them through interactive learning centers.

To blend social-emotional growth with hands-on science exploration, students worked with family members to design and build a personalized SEL Sensory Bottle using their choice of vibrant glitter, colorful liquid, and floating beads.

How do sensory bottles work? When preschoolers feel overwhelmed, anxious, or full of extra energy, they can shake their sensory bottle and watch the sparkles slowly swirl and drift toward the bottom. Taking slow, deep breaths while watching the glitter sink helps children regulate their nervous systems, identify their feelings, and return to a sense of calm.

Congratulations to all of our preschool classes on celebrating their first study and growing together!

📢 Don’t forget to join the Eatontown PTA! You don’t need to have tons of free time, attend every meeting, or be an expert at anything. The Eatontown PTA simply needs families who are willing to lend a hand, share an idea, or help make something amazing happen for our kids. Right now, they need Pre-K volunteers! For more information, please contact the Pre-K Vice President, Deanna Bills, at prekvp@eatontownschoolspta.com.
