💛 Welcome Back to School! Big Steps and New Discoveries in Preschool! 💙
A brand new school year is officially underway, and our preschool classrooms are filled with bright smiles, eager eyes, and non-stop energy! As we kick off the year, our young learners are jumping right into learning, building routines, and discovering what it means to be part of a classroom community.
Welcome to the Classroom!
Under our Creative Curriculum framework, we're launching the year with The First Six Weeks Building Our Classroom Community study. During these first weeks, students are exploring their new learning environment, discovering where learning materials belong, and building warm, trusting relationships with their teachers and classmates.
Our preschoolers are also mastering their new daily schedules! From morning arrival and circle time to hands-on learning centers and outdoor play, learning the flow of the day gives students a sense of security, independence, and confidence.
Growing Little Readers with Kickstart Literacy 📖
We are thrilled to introduce our Kickstart Literacy curriculum this school year! During reading time, our little scholars are beginning to unlock the magic of words and storybooks. Right now, students are focusing on foundational word awareness, including:
Finding the Spaces: Learning that words are made of letters separated by spaces.
Connecting Words to Meaning: Building early comprehension by connecting the words in our stories to real-life experiences.
Partnering with Families
You can support your child's learning journey at home by talking through your daily routine and reading together! When reading bedtime stories, try pointing to individual words as you read, pointing out the spaces between them, and encouraging your child to predict what might happen next.
We’re so excited for the wonderful year ahead filled with growth, friendship, and fun! Keep an eye out for upcoming updates as our preschoolers move to the Trees study.
📢 Don’t forget to join the Eatontown PTA! You don’t need to have tons of free time, attend every meeting, or be an expert at anything. The Eatontown PTA simply needs families who are willing to lend a hand, share an idea, or help make something amazing happen for our kids. Right now, they need Pre-K volunteers! For more information, please contact the Pre-K Vice President, Deanna Bills, at prekvp@eatontownschoolspta.com.
