REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

For Maintenance and Custodial Operation Services

NOTICE is hereby given that the Eatontown Board of Education is accepting sealed proposals for a Maintenance and Custodial Operation Services Contract until 10:00 a.m. on January 21, 2026, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5.  Proposals should be submitted with the required forms, in a sealed envelope labeled Maintenance and Custodial Operation Services Contract and delivered to the Office of the Business Administrator as provided below:

The Board of Education does not accept electronic (e-mail) submission of proposals. On the advertised date and time, the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary shall publicly receive and open all proposals.  No proposals shall be received after the time designated in the advertisement. (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-21(b)). Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bond, cashier’s check or certified check made payable to the Eatontown Board of Education, for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total proposal, however, not to exceed $20,000.

Proposal Forms may be obtained from the Business Administrator, Greg Hillman, on or after December 29, 2025. The Board assumes no responsibility for Proposals miss-mailed or misdirected.

All interested Contractors are encouraged to attend a non-mandatory pre-proposal conference and tour to be held on January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., beginning at the Administrative Offices, Eatontown Public Schools, 5 Grant Avenue, Eatontown, New Jersey 07724Attendance is strongly recommended for all interested contractors.  No other walk-through will be permitted. Upon release of this RFP, all Contractor communications concerning this information request must be directed via email or in writing no later than 10:00 a.m. on January 12, 2026, to the Business Administrator, who is the only authorized contact person for the RFP. Any oral communications will be considered unofficial and non-binding on the School District.

No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof.  The contract will be awarded to the contractor who is determined to be the most advantageous to the District based upon the evaluation criteria.  The Eatontown Board of Education reserves the right to waive any and all guidelines and requirements herein and to reject any and all proposals in accordance with the Public School Contracts Law.  Competitive Contracting shall be in conformance with all applicable federal, state, and municipal laws including the Public School Contracts Law of the State of New Jersey N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-1 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 10:5:31 et seq. and N.J.A.C.17:27 et seq. regarding Affirmative Action during the provision of the goods and services.  No vendor who is listed on the State Treasurer’s or the Federal Government’s List of Debarred, Suspended or Disqualified Vendors shall be eligible to submit a proposal.
