Eatontown Public Schools

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I hope this communication finds you safe and strong. The times we are currently living in are strange and unfamiliar. Please know that we truly miss our children. Since our transition to remote learning, we as a district have worked to meet the needs of our students. As we know that our remote learning looks different than our usual instruction, we wanted to provide you with some resources that you can use during the summer months to help meet the academic needs of our students.

We have developed Summer Reading and Summer Math packets. Although these packets are not mandatory to complete, I encourage your child to work on them as mastery of these skills is extremely important in order to develop a solid foundation for the upcoming school year. These packets are separated by upcoming grade levels. If you feel the work is too challenging/frustrating for your child, please have them complete the packet at the grade level below their intended packet. There are also enrichment activities/packets for students who
like more of a challenge.

As you know, our district has made a strong commitment to online programs. We believe that digital tools are essential in helping students to target and practice skills. We have made arrangements to ensure that the digital tool iReady is available during the summer months should you choose to use this program with your children. Student usernames are last name, first initial followed by .eps. For example, if a student’s name is Jane Smith the username would be smithj.eps. The student’s password is their 5-digit school ID number, which can be found on parent portal.

If you have any questions about either the Summer Reading and Summer Math packets, or the online program iReady, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 732-935-7838 or by email at tmicciulla@eatontown.org. I hope you will encourage your son or daughter to take part in these summer activities!

Sincerely,

Tara Micciulla
Director of Elementary and Secondary Education
