Dear Parents/Guardians:

I wanted to inform you about a special event that will be occurring at Margaret L. Vetter School. Each year our sixth grade classes participate in a L.E.A.D. Graduation ceremony. L.E.A.D. stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs. Upon completion of the program, our sixth grade students are recognized in a L.E.A.D. Graduation program, receive a special barbeque prepared by the Eatontown Police Department, and engage in special activities during the afternoon. The program has been a success over the years and was formerly known as D.A.R.E.

As an enhancement to this year’s program, L.E.A.D. program instructor, Ryan Hennelly, has arranged for the New Jersey State Police Helicopter to land after L.E.A.D. Graduation is completed. All appropriate clearances have been arranged through the proper agencies and authorities. The purpose of this notification is to advise you of the presence of the helicopter at the school in order for the school community to know and to understand that this is a planned, arranged event.

The date of the L.E.A.D. Graduation is Friday, June 2, 2023.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

Tara Micciulla

Margaret L. Vetter School Principal
