As Superintendent of Schools, and the educational leader of the district, I want to acknowledge that I realize how challenging these times are for students, parents, educators, administrators, and Board of Education members. As a school community, we are dealing with many emotions and hardships that have been thrust upon us, all through no fault or wrongdoing of our own. However, I do believe that we are all in this together and we must continue to work together for our students as well as our town.
It is in this spirit that Eatontown Public Schools will recognize the parents and guardians of our students through a Parent Appreciation Week beginning Monday, May 11th through Friday, May 15th. The theme of this week is to both formally and informally recognize the efforts of our parents and guardians during remote learning. As of this writing, the district and schools have completed 35 days of remote learning, There are 29 more days left to complete in this process. The Eatontown Public Schools community thanks you for your time, consideration, and support in this process.
Although we all recognize that being physically in school is the best for students, due to the current health crisis, this schedule and form of school attendance is not possible. However, providing the best educational services and programs we can under these circumstances is our collective goal. Our students, your children, deserve the best we can offer. Hence, Parent Appreciation Week is designed to recognize your efforts in this important process. You did not sign up to be a team-teacher. However, many parents are creating classrooms in their homes and taking on the roles of teacher, school nurse, principal, and other educational titles in order to make learning work for their child.
Thank you for your hard work and patience. We are all doing the best we can. I have attached a writing for your review that helps me get through some tough times with my children from time to time.
