Dear Eatontown Public Schools Community Member:

It has been a busy Holiday Season here at Eatontown Public Schools. From special student activities to construction projects, the fall and early winter have provided a hum of activity throughout our schools.

As Superintendent of Schools, I wanted to provide a brief update regarding our Energy Savings Improvement Plan (ESIP) project. As of this writing, all LED lighting work has been completed at the schools. In terms of the HVAC work, Meadowbrook, Woodmere, and Margaret L. Vetter Schools have their new rooftop units installed. Memorial School as well as the Administrative Offices will have their remaining HVAC rooftop units installed over Winter Break.

On the solar front, both the Transportation building as well as Margaret L. Vetter School are completed. The solar canopy at Meadowbrook School is completed and the Woodmere School solar canopy should be completed this week. Memorial, Meadowbrook, and Woodmere Schools should have their rooftop solar panels installed completely by mid-January.

Last but not least, the HVAC control systems will be calibrated, tweaked, and completed by February. As with any construction, timelines may change. However, this update is where we stand today.

Most importantly, by completion of this project, new HVAC equipment will be installed at all four schools. Twenty-six HVAC units will be replaced by the end of the project. The approximately $5 million worth of work will be paid through energy savings achieved through the ESIP project, not taxpayer funds. The energy savings achieved through LED lighting updates and solar power will pay back the cost of this important work in the future, without impacting the Eatontown taxpayers.

Have a happy and healthy Holiday Season.

Sincerely,

Scott T. McCue Superintendent of Schools
