Dear Parents/Guardians:

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both you and your family back to school. I hope your child has a great first full week of school.

I realize each of us has a million and one things going through our minds right now. I will be clear and concise with my message.

As we work together to navigate through a new normal in the schools, I would ask the school community to demonstrate courtesy in their interactions with one another. Courtesy is defined as "the showing of politeness in one's attitude and behavior toward others." In these challenging and unprecedented times, let's be courteous to one another.

Although our Administrative Team as well as our Faculty and Staff have worked extremely hard in developing and executing a plan that will maintain health, safety, and educational standards, the year will not be perfect. As a school community, we need to work together to identify problems, create reasonable solutions, and encourage one another. I have confidence in our community.

I have shared this message earlier in the day with our Faculty and Staff. We cannot expect our Administrators to be perfect, our Faculty and Staff to be perfect, our Parents to be perfect, or our Students to be perfect. Our first goal is to act reasonably to protect our collective health and safety and continue to meaningfully educate students each day. As concerns arise, our team will adjust, tweak, and modify the plan as needed.

Let's continue to extend one another courtesy in the days ahead. We are all doing our best to navigate through challenging social and economic times. We appreciate your cooperation and support.

Stay positive, stay healthy, and stay safe!

Sincerely,

Scott T. McCue Superintendent of Schools
