December Events

December is an exciting month here at Vetter.  We have some exciting events planned for the month.

  • Vetter School helps their families during the holiday season.  Our Community Service Alliance (a community service club for our 6th graders) is sponsoring a Links of Hope Campaign.  Students can buy a link for $1 and a link chain will be added to their classroom’s link!  The classrooms with the most money raised will receive a pizza party (1st place) and pretzel party (2nd place). If you are interested in sponsoring a student or purchasing a gift, please contact the Vetter Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Koukourdelis at ckoukourdelis@eatontown.org

  • The PTA Sponsored Holiday Shop is on Tuesday, December 12.   Students will get to shop during the school day for holiday gifts for their loved ones.  Please fill out the attached form and send your child in with the money as well as a reusable bag on Tuesday 12/12.  The PTA is looking for volunteers to help with the Holiday Shop.  If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using this link.

  • The PTA is selling Holiday Candy Grams.  They are $1 for one, $8 for 10, or $20 for 25.  All Order Form(s) and Cash or Check, made payable to Eatontown Schools PTA are due to the school no later than Thursday, December 15th. Please send your money and form(s) in an envelope or Ziploc bag.  Holiday Chocolate Grams will be delivered to each classroom on Thursday, December 23rd.  Tree nut free chocolate bars and candy canes will be provided to classrooms with tree nut allergies.

  • Please support the Vetter and Memorial Schools Chorus and Band at the Winter Concert on Thursday, December 14th at 6:30pm at the Memorial School Gym.  These students have been practicing diligently under the guidance of Mrs. O’Neill.

  • Please take a moment to read the November Edition of the Vetter Post, a monthly newsletter written by a Vetter School 5th grader.

  • We have the opportunity for a dentist to come to Vetter School where students can receive dental exams, a cleaning, fluoride treatment, x-rays, and sealants. Please click here to view more information about the program.   Forms will be sent home, but if you are looking for another one, please contact Nurse DeBrango at 732-935-3331.

  • Throughout the month of December, individual classrooms will be working on fun holiday projects like Ginger Bread House Making, Ornament making, Pine Cone Tree Decorating, Movie Day, and much more.  Please check emails daily for any information from individual teachers about supplies needed for these projects.  If you have any concerns or questions about the projects, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

  • We have our Dashing Through December Spirit Calendar for the month of December.  Each day is a fun theme day for both staff and students.

  • December 22nd is a one-session day for staff and students.  Students in Grades 5 & 6 will dismiss at 12:10 and Pre-K students will dismiss at 12:50.  Schools will be closed December 25-January 1.  We return on January 2nd,

On behalf of the staff at Vetter School, we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and a Safe and Healthy New Year!
