A Month to Be Thankful for
By: Bernie Rogers
The third month of the school year has had a lot of fun activities. At the beginning of the month, there was a Veteran’s Day assembly. There were war veterans there and they had students that the veterans knew go on stage with them. Briendel Columbres, one of the students who went on stage said, “It was very cool being on stage with Mr. Rivera, ” who is one of the teachers at Vetter. After the assembly, the students got to watch a new movie, Elemental. The students achieved the movie day by filling 1⁄3 of a water jug with tickets that they earned for good behavior. The PTA also brought in popcorn for everyone!!
For the rest of November, students were doing many different things. There were also class pictures, as well as pictures for band and chorus. A lot of the students were doing work for Thanksgiving. There were class projects and a party with apple pie. James McCarthy says “In school, I’m thankful for the computers.” Since Thanksgiving is over, people are starting to decorate for Christmas and get ready for the holidays. And with that, the third month of the school year comes to an end.
