Ms. Lena's and Mrs. Samilow's preschool classes created self-portraits using mirrors to observe their own unique features. The children carefully studied the location of their facial features, noticing where their eyes, nose, and mouth belong. As they worked, they learned that while we may all have different skin tones, eye colors, and hair colors, what truly matters is that everyone has feelings. This activity reminded us that no matter our differences, we should always treat one another with kindness and respect.
