Special Education Family Night

On Thursday May 8th, Meadowbrook & Woodmere Schools hosted an empowering & inspirational Special Education Family Night focused on supporting our Special Education students & their families. This fun-filled event provided a wonderful opportunity for students & parents to immerse themselves in Special Education activities & programs.

Key highlights of this awe-inspiring night included:

  • Teachers, paraprofessionals, Child Study Team members, Speech therapists, and School Administrators warmly welcomed families & provided hands-on help.

  • Classrooms were strategically set up to showcase a diverse array of sensory activities, therapeutic services, & adaptive lessons all designed to support the global needs of our Special Education students. 

  • Students, led by staff, happily engaged in Yoga, painted, crafted, played Physical Education games, interacted with adorable therapy dogs, and enjoyed sweet treats.

  • Representatives from Community agencies & advocacy organizations were available to share meaningful information & guidance.

  • This memorable evening concluded with an open forum for questions & the opportunity for families to connect with staff & other parents.

Overall, our Special Education Family Night was a true success & served as a valuable platform for continued communication, collaboration, & advancement. The District remains committed to supporting every student’s unique needs & fostering strong partnerships with families.
