Dear Eatontown School Community Member:

In order to help ensure that students, families, staff and community members are protected against COVID-19, Eatontown Public Schools and officials from the Monmouth County Health Department will partner together to offer a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic on November 8, 2021 at the Memorial Middle School Gymnasium located at 7 Grant Avenue in Eatontown from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

As the school year is underway, obtaining a COVID-19 vaccine will allow individuals enough time to receive a second dose before the end of the year, guaranteeing the best possible protection against COVID-19 and the highly transmissible Delta variant. In addition, many students and their families can add another layer of protection prior to the holiday season.

Everyone ages five years and older is recommended to get a COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines are free regardless of insurance or immigration status. Again, the COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended, but not required at this time.

A choice of four vaccines – Pfizer (both formulations for 12+ and children 5-11), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+) will be available to accommodate families and staff who need first, second or booster doses, in addition to students. Currently, only the Pfizer vaccine formulations are available to individuals 5-17 years of age.

One additional consideration should be mentioned. Fully vaccinated individuals who become exposed close contacts and have no COVID-like symptoms do not need to quarantine or be excluded from school. This benefit is important to our school community and would allow the district to keep more students in school each day.
