3rd Grade Poetry Contest Winners with Monmouth County Officials

Eatontown Public Schools is proud to celebrate the achievements of three talented third-grade students who earned First, Second, and Third Place in Monmouth County's Semiquincentennial Student Poetry Contest commemorating America's 250th Birthday.

The contest invited students in grades 3 through 5 from across Monmouth County to respond to the prompt, "What is America to Me? America could mean mean things to different people. Students are invited to write a poem sharing their perspectives on what America means to them."

Patrick Campbell, Opal Rogers, and MacKenzie Siobhan Donoghue, all 3rd Grade students in Mrs. Schleig's class, won the top three prizes among all of the 3rd Grade entries across Monmouth County. These young poets demonstrated exceptional creativity, thoughtfulness, and writing skill, capturing what America means to them in powerful and inspiring ways.

This remarkable accomplishment highlights not only their talent as writers but also their ability to thoughtfully engage with an important milestone in our nation's history. We congratulate these students on their outstanding achievements and comment them for representing our school community with excellence.

Please join us in celebrating these young authors and their award-winning work!
