The Month of Everything By: Bernie R. (Grade 5)

During the month of February, as the title of this article suggests, a lot of different things happened. Some major events were the Spelling Bee, the honor roll breakfast, the Special Someone’s Dance, the Vetter School dance, Valentine’s Day, and Black History Month.

The first event I would like to talk about is the Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee had fifth and sixth graders compete, and lasted around an hour. The person who came in first place was Bernie R., the person who came in second place was Bradley U., and the person who came in third place was Aiden H. After the Spelling Bee, Bernie said, “The Spelling Bee was very hard, and I was very excited to be up on stage.”

Another thing that happened slightly later was the Special Someone’s Dance, where students brought their parents to a fancy venue to dance. Nicholas P. said, “The dance was very fun, there were a lot of people there, and the food was pretty good.”

There was also another dance later in the month with just the students at the school. Right before Valentine’s Day, there was a special breakfast with cookies and hot chocolate for the students who made the honor roll and high honor roll. The cookies were delicious!

Now, on to Valentine’s Day. For Valentine’s Day, students had small parties in their classes, and they handed out treats and candy grams.

Finally, we’re going to talk about what students did for Black History Month. Students learned about many different black historical figures, and researched them so they could do projects on them. There were many different projects on the walls of the fifth grade hall, and they were all about unique and different people.

That ends off the article for February 2024, goodbye everyone!
