At the January 23rd Board of Education Meeting, the Board voted to move the School Election to November. More information will be forthcoming in the future.
School Budget Process/School Election Information Night
Please join us for the First School Budget Process and School Election Information Night to be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Memorial School All-Purpose Room. Time will be 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Presenters will be Mr. Scott T. McCue, Superintendent of Schools, and Charles F. Shay, Interim Business Administrator. 40th Annual Italian Dinner - Memorial School
Join us for the 40th Annual Italian Dinner. The Italian Dinner will be held at the Memorial School on Friday, February 10, 2012 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Snow date is Sunday, February 12 from the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children, 10 and under, and can be obtained in the main school office in the Memorial School. This dinner is for the benefit of the 8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip.

EATONTOWN RESIDENTS
(ONE-HALF DAY INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL PROGRAM)
The Eatontown Public Schools will have a half-day integrated preschool program that will be opened to a limited number of children who have attained the age of four before October 1, 2012. The program is designed to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to be included with non-disabled peers. Applications for the program may be picked up at the Meadowbrook Elementary School, 65 Wyckoff Road, Eatontown, NJ on March 19, 20, 21, 2012, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You must bring your child's original state-issued birth certificate and proof of residency. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

Black History Month Facts
On February 1st, the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which abolished slavery, was adopted by the 38th Congress. Ratification was completed on December 6, 1865. Also, in 1870, Jonathan Jasper Wright was elected to the South Carolina Supreme Court.
On February 7th, Negro History week originated by Carter G. Woodson is observed for the first time in 1926. On February 8, 1986, figure skater Debi Thomas became the first African American to win the Women's Singles of the U.S. National Figure Skating Championship competition. She was a pre-med student at Stanford University. On February 9, 1979, Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Leroy "Satchel" Paige would be inducted.
On February 10, 1964, after 10 days of debate and voting on 125 amendments, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by a vote of 290-130. The bill prohibited any state or local government or public facility from denying access to anyone because of race or ethnic origin. It further gave the U.S. Attorney General the power to bring school desegregation law suits.

You don't have to do anything else. This will help us get information to parents more quickly, be environmentally and fiscally responsible by saving paper (going green) and save employee time. We need your email addresses as soon as possible.
